Man I'm a busy boy!

Last week we took Nolan to the park for his first time and he had a blast!  We met the Blount family, Nolan loved watching Eva and Roman run around the park, he can't wait to run around with him.  Nolan swang for about 30 min. (which is a long time for him) and then he played on the end of the slide for awhile.  I'm sure we will be spending a lot of time at different parks this summer.
Swinging and loving every minute

For the 3rd year in a row my mom, sister, and Nolan walked in Race for the Cure.  This is one of my favorites things to do each year.  The walk is for such a great cause and there's a lot to see along the way.  This year was extra special to us because we walked for our Aunt Sarah.  This walk has always been meaningful, but when you are walking for someone you love it's extra special.  I know we will walk each year and continue to support the cause.  Nolan did ok, he was kind of fussy so we took turns carrying him most of way, by the end he was passed out, it's pretty rough to be carried all day!
Even Nolan has his pink shirt on

5k's are tiring!
Yesterday we had Nolan's 6 month check-up.  He is growing well and was very excited to be at the doctor's office until the dreaded shots came.  Good news is he will not have to get any shots at his 9 month appt.  Nolan is in the 60% for height and 45% for his weight.
  • Weight: 16 lbs. 12 oz.
  • Height: 27 inches
Today Travis and I are heading to Las Vegas for a few days with Lauran, Dad and a few friends.  We are looking forward to going on an adult's only vacation, but at the same time I'm sad to leave Nolan.  I know he will be in perfect hands, Nana and Grandma are graciously taking turns watching Nolan and Dierks.

6 Months & Easter

We had such a wonderful 1st Easter as a family.  It was a gorgeous sunny day and we were able to spend the holiday with all of our family.  We started the day off having breakfast at home and giving Nolan his 1st Easter basket.  The Easter Bunny brought him a pool for the deck this summer, he was so excited he threw-up in his Easter basket.  He is going to be one cool dude in his pool with his hat and sunglasses!  Nolan was spoiled all day, I think he got 4 different Easter baskets, what a lucky boy.  Thanks to all our family for the wonderful gifts.  We really enjoyed the time we got to spend with everyone.  Next year we will be hiding eggs, can't wait!

Trying to escape, I was making him sit in his basket for pictures

This month Nolan celebrated his half birthday.  It's hard to believe that in 6 short months we will be celebrating his 1st birthday.  Nolan has hit many milestones this past month.  He has also had to start at a daycare.  Unfortunately Hannah, who was watching him on Thurdays and Fridays had to go on bead rest (our thoughts are with her and her family), so we went to plan B which is daycare 3 days a week at Heartland Church.  Last week was his first week and they said that he did very well and that he is advanced for his age, that sure made me proud to hear!  I really like that it is set-up like a school and that when he is 1 he will have a schedule and their days are structured.  It's also great because there are cameras in the room and I can log-on during the day and see what he is doing.  Normally he is up playing, so far he hasn't had much luck sleeping there.  I'm sure he will get better once he is used to the noise from the other kids.

Nolan's Milestones:

  • He rolls over both ways

  • He cut his first 2 teeth

  • He sits up for long periods of time by himself

  • He can sit in shopping carts and highchairs when we go out

  • He babbles non-stop - it's hilarious, he loves to hear himself talk

  • He gets up on all fours and rocks back and forth, but hasn't been able to figure out how to get anywhere (I'm sure he will be crawling in the next couple of months)
Nolan is an absolute joy and we love watching him grow and change everyday.

2nd Florida Trip

I'm once again behind on blogging.  If we would stay home for more than 10 minutes at a time I might be able to get caught up!  2 weeks ago we went to Florida, which was Nolan's 2nd trip there.  He is a great little traveler which is good because Travis and I can't stay in Indiana to long.

We spent the 1st half of our vacation visiting with family which is always a great time.  We spent the 1st night with Grandma Cobb, she is a "snow bird" and hasn't see Nolan since Thanksgiving.  He showed off for her and she really enjoyed him.
Our next pit stop was Port St. Lucie where we stayed with Aunt Dawn, Uncle Paul, and the kids.  Ethan and Zoe really enjoyed their time with Nolan and played with him a lot! We were also able to get some quality time in with Grandma, Grandpa, and Father Tony who was visiting from New Jersey.  He is the priest that married Travis and I.

We went and watched Zac play baseball, he had a great game!

Our next stop was Lakeland where we were able to visit with Auntie Colleen, Uncle Brad, Tim, Chris and Chris' fiance Jen.  We had never met Jen before since she has been living in California, it was a defiinite treat and we are looking forward to their wedding in 2011!

Our final destination was the beach house we stayed at in Vero Beach.  We spent a few days relaxing, shopping at the outlet mall, and hanging on the beach.  Unfortunately it was too cold to get in the water, but Nolan loved playing in the sand.  We can't wait to take him back!
