Tis the Season

We had a busy 2 days celebrating Christmas with our families.  We went to Greensburg on Christmas Eve and visited with Gammy, went to church, and hung out at Porter's house afterwards.  We woke up Christmas morning at my parents house and opened presents with them.  Nolan slept through everything!  He was definitely spoiled and got some wonderful presents. After breakfast with my family we went to Cam and Joey's to celebrate with Travis' family.  We had such a nice visit with everyone and again Nolan was spoiled to pieces.  Thank you to everyone for all the nice things you got us, we truly appreciate it.  We really enjoyed Christmas and the time we got to spend with everyone.

Last week Nolan and I went to Lafayette to have lunch with my friend Missy (she as my big sis in AOII).  Missy now lives in Boston so we only see her once a year.

Here are a few random pictures of Nolan that we took the past couple of days.  Two nights ago we put him in his exersaucer, he loves it!

Nolan's 1st Vacation

We recently took Nolan on his 1st vacation to Florida. Travis attended the annual PRI tradeshow in Orlando. Nolan and I tagged along for fun and to visit family. The flight out there was wonderful, Nolan slept the first half of the flight and then he woke up and talked to us for awhile and then ate. Before we knew it we were back on the ground and survived our first flight! Nolan is a great baby so we weren't worried about how he would do, but you just never know. We are very lucky to have such a great baby.
We started out our vacation by spending the first night in Orlando. We checked into our hotel and ventured to Downtown Disney for dinner. Nolan got to try on his first set of Mickey ears, too cute. He slept through most of Downtown Disney, I think traveling wore him out.
The next day we went to Sea World to see Shamu! I've always loved marine animals so I was very excited to go to Sea World. We had a great day, the weather was perfect (80 degrees). Again, Nolan slept through most of the day, but Travis and I had so much fun. We went to the dolpin show, played with stingrays, checked out the penguins and the sharks, watched dolpins underwater (my favorite), wathced the manatee's swim around and ended the day with Shamu.

After our day at Sea World and headed to Lakeland where my Auntie Colleen and Unlce Brad live, we stayed here for the remainder of our trip. We had such a great visit with our family in Florida. Nolan got meet 6 more of his cousins, 2 of his great-aunts and 2 of his great-uncles. I definitely didn't think that we would have been able to introduce Nolan to everyone at 10 weeks, but we are very fortunate. We were also very lucky that Nolan slept 9 - 10 hours each night we were in Florida. Unbelieveable, he was only sleeping 6 hours before we left, now he is sleeping 7 - 9 hours a night, it's awesome!

We ended our trip by going to the Magic Kingdom with Nana and Pac Pac. Travis' parents were in Florida because they brought his grandma down for the winter. The Magic Kingdom was great! I haven't been there in 10 years. You definitely feel like a kid again as soon as you step into the park. Surprsingly, Nolan was able to ride every ride with us besides Space Mountain and Thunder Mountain. He won't remember the day, but Travis and I will and we have plenty of pictures to show him one day.
This trip was a great way to end my maternity leave. I'm not looking forward to going back to work, but I know it will be good to get back into an everyday routine. I'm really going to miss hanging out with my little man everyday, the past 3 months have been the best!

Here comes Santa Claus, here comes Santa Claus

Today Katie and I took Nolan and Aiden to the Castleton Square Mall for their first meeting with Santa, they even wore matching outfits. Katie and I bought these onesies last winter. We knew she was having a boy, but we weren't sure what I was having. Good thing I had a boy, a little girl would not have looked cute in this outfit. The boys were so good, Aiden was alert for everything and Nolan slept through most of our trip to the mall, he woke up and started screaming at me in the last store. The boys had a great play date and Katie and I were able to get some shopping done. I can't wait for next year, the boys will be running around, that's scary to think about.
Comfy cozy on Santa, next year will be a different story

Naptown Rollers

Saturday night Justin, Allison, Travis and I went dinner at Mamma Corollas and to the State Fairgrounds to see the Naptown Rollers, the Indianapolis Roller Derby team. Allison (she is a graphic designer) designed t-shirts at work that were sold at the roller derby so she got free tickets for us to go. We had a blast, those girls are rough and tough! Here are few pictures from our experience.

2 months old

On Wednesday Nolan turned 2 months old. I can't believe how fast the time has gone. Before I know it I will unfortunately be back at work. I've really enjoyed my maternity leave and time off with Nolan; it's going to be hard to go back.

This morning we had Nolan's 2 month check-up. Dr. Moreland said that Nolan is a very healthy growing boy. He is 23 1/4 inches and 12.4 lbs. He is still measuring in the 50th percentile for his age.

Nolan is growing and changing so much everyday. Here are few things he has started doing this month.
  • He can lay on his stomach and hold his head up
  • He is can follow voices when people are talking in a room
  • When we talk to him he will laugh and coo (this is the best!)
  • He is now sleeping 4 - 5 hours a night. I don't want to jinx us, but last night he slept through the night for the first time.
  • He has rolled over in his crib a couple of times, of course he was really mad and screaming, not sure if that counts or not.

Thanks for the Christmas shirt Grandma!

Next week we will be taking our first family vacation. We are flying to Florida on Tuesday. Travis has a tradeshow in Orlando and we are going to stay with Auntie Colleen and Uncle Brad. We are looking forward to introducing Nolan to them.

Nolan's Baptism

It has been a very busy, but fun weekend. We had Nolan baptized today at St. Louis De Montfort in Fishers this afternoon. We are very fortunate that our families were able to join us on this special day. Gigi (Grandma Griffith) made Nolan's baptismal gown. We really appreciate her doing that for him and it was very special that she and Grandpa were able to be here from Florida to witness his baptism. Justin and Lauran are Nolan's godparents, he is very lucky to have godparents that love him so much. After the baptism we had our family over for lunch. Thanks to Grandma and Nana for making the lunch for everyone. We have the best family!

Happy Thanksgiving

We hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! My grandparents flew in on Tuesday from Florida to join us for Nolan's first Thanksgiving. We have had great visit with them and they have really enjoyed getting to meet their first great-grandson. We had my family over to our house for Thanksgiving, it was a great day full of eating, visiting, and planning our Black Friday shopping route.
